Using the article from the magazine Viewpoint above, I have digitally drawn an editorial illustration to go along with the article, with help from my “art director”.
Using the title and some of the quotes from the feature, I have illustrated the words “The future is female”, and “Choose love” onto images of t-shirts to represent slogan tees.
I made this image digitally because I knew that I wanted to use a lot of straight lines and complex perspectives (i.e. with the clothes poles and hangers), and I was going to make it into a GIF, although I haven’t been able to achieve that yet.
I used a clothes shop as the location to suggest how slogan t-shirts are increasing in popularity and being manufactured more. I also used blues, purples and yellows to compliment each other and used the rule of three when it came to adding the mannequins.
For inspiration, I looked at the illustrations from the magazine Breathe, a magazine that I read in my spare time and enjoy the colourful illustrations.
